FAMILYSEARCH.ORG Assessment Records 1820’s-1880

Ontario’s historical Township Tax Assessment records captured the NAMES and CONCESSION / LOT LOCATIONS of both Owners and Tenants.

FamilySearch.org has made the images available for many Townships and has the beginnings of a Surname Index (at 2021). The Index is significantly incomplete but can be the basis for an initial search.
